Hotel Rathaus Wein & Design

The Rathaus Wein & Design Hotel in Vienna is a fusion of passions – a love for wine blended with an enthusiasm for hospitality. It’s a concept hotel within a beautiful historic building with classical, unique architectural features and a modern décor. The hotel is one of three from the Fleischhaker family, and the finishing touches throughout truly reflect their love for wine and design.

Rathaus Wein & Design has a number of charming design features, such as the old metal elevator in the centre of the building and a spiral staircase as a beautiful alternative to reach the upper floors.

Each room is named after a famous Austrian vintner, and is individually designed and furnished to a very high standard. Returning to your room after a long day of sightseeing you’ll find specially selected wines from the vineyard your room is named after, along with an extensive wine list of others that can be brought to the room or enjoyed in the bar downstairs. It’s a wonderful way to settle in for the night.

“Vienna is for wine lovers” say the team at Wein & Design, and they’re definitely not wrong. With more than 320 wine estates in the city area of Vienna, and many vintners living so close by, it’s no wonder there is an abundance of choice when it comes to fine wine here. The wine bar in the hotel offers an impeccable selection of Viennese wines, each one hand chosen by the Wein & Design team.

The breakfast at Rathaus Wein & Design is an elaborate spread of Austrian specialties, from fresh baked goods to meats and cheese. Fresh smoothies and juices and even kombucha are among a wide selection of hot and cold beverages on offer, ensuring there’s something for every taste.

A hotel ‘newspaper’ is printed each day with suggested things to do and see, and a short story about the hotel or surrounding area. It’s a nice little gesture which goes down perfectly with a hot cup of coffee as you set up for the busy day ahead.

Andaz Singapore

A Concept By Hyatt

The Andaz Singapore is a beautiful marriage of exciting local culture and high end design. Welcoming guests in central Singapore, the concept draws on patterns, colours and designs from the Kampong Glam, Bras Basah Bugis and Little India cultural districts. Andaz Singapore has been carefully curated to take you on a journey through the area’s rich Indian and Malay heritage.

The experience begins as soon as you arrive. Gone are the formal front desk reception counters in place of a more casual and welcoming set up. Friendly faces greet you with a much needed cold drink. The hotel lounge is a casual space where the team checks you in as you chat comfortably around an open table. Prepared with all of the necessary information you may need, and a list of recommendations of what to see and do, you’re free to head to your suite and put your feet up. No need to bother with your luggage, they’ll be delivered to the door within minutes while you get comfortable in your new surroundings.

Upscale Singaporean Luxury

Every room and suite boasts floor to ceiling windows offering incredible views of the vibrant neighbourhood, or Singapore’s famous Marina Bay area. Warm mustard tones flow throughout the interior design, with contemporary furnishings and luxurious bed linens. A complimentary mini bar entices you to sit back and enjoy the view, whilst the Andaz magazine creatively outlines seasonal events and good-to-know information about the hotel and surrounding area.

Signature toiletries are another example of the attention to detail and amalgamation of local culture throughout the design. A unique scent was thoughtfully created by local perfumer Christophe Laudamiel, combining dewy orchid and fresh orange blossom with Chinese Cedarwood to literally capture the essence of Andaz.

After a busy day of sightseeing it’s definitely time to relax. Refreshments are available 24 hours a day in the hotel’s sun lounge, relax with a glass of homemade iced tea or a hot coffee, and sample some of the most popular local snacks.

The hotel’s infinity pool is on the 23rd floor, overlooking the Marina Bay area and out to sea. Surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, it’s a little oasis in the middle of the city. Loungers, towels and bottled water make for a comfortable experience.

Dinner & Drinks

Four mouthwatering restaurants are located within the hotel building, offering a wide variety of dining experiences and cuisine. From a top quality steak house to local Singaporean favourites, there’s something for every taste.

On top of this, two bars invite you to enjoy a glass of wine at happy hour. Head to Mr Stork on the rooftop to enjoy fantastic cocktails in a hip setting with unbeatable panorama views of the city skyline.

Kazerne – Home Of Design

A novel concept

Kazerne Home of Design showcases recent creations by local designers across a platform that brings people together to eat, drink, and create. It’s an exciting design platform and cultural enterprise, with the aim of connecting people and stimulating talent.

The Kazerne platform is home to 8 luxurious guest suites, 2 incredible independent restaurants, and multiple exhibition spaces and meeting rooms. Design exhibitions are presented all across the platform. As a result every event, dinner, and meeting is inspired by thought-provoking design that invites discussion and stimulates creative thinking.

As a hotel, Kazerne offers guests the unique experience of staying in an exquisitely designed space. More specifically, the unrepeated elements of design change with the ongoing exhibitions across the platform, which creates an ever-changing ambiance and experience.

A Brief History

Culture, design, and hospitality

All suites and lofts at Kazerne are located within the walls of an impeccably restored heritage buildings that date back to 1825. The property was one of the first military police barracks of the Netherlands – a fascinating past for the social and cultural setting it is today. Many original features of the buildings have been preserved. For example, the restored wooden beams are now a focal point of the lofts.

Exhibition spaces are housed inside a 1925 industrial warehouse adjoined to the barracks. High ceilings and exposed steel frames remain, but modifications create an intimate feel, with softened acoustics and a circular runway as centre stage.

The entire design of Kazerne is a beautiful representation of Eindhoven’s seemingly widespread desire to create and innovate, whilst preserving the best elements of the past.

Facilities & Amenities

• 8 luxurious guest suites & lofts
• Ongoing design exhibitions, with changing designs across the platform

• Nordic fine dining experience at Restaurant Benz

A Social Destination

Kazerne is more than a physical space; it’s an experience. It’s a reason to reflect on how design shapes our communal life. Elements of every design render reflection and discussion, which in the hands of the open minded can lead to incredible things.

Laguna Lodge

Inspired by nature and built from volcanic stone, adobe and palm, Laguna Lodge is a fitting part of the landscape along the shore of Lake Atitlan. We arrived under the cover of darkness and the veil of heavy rain, and even in these conditions the lodge looked simply spectacular. Guests are welcomed with warm Mayan hospitality, a friendly face, and a glass of freshly squeezed papaya juice. Stepping into the building, the Mayan art and décor, natural materials and circulating fresh air immediately excite the senses.

Spacious Suites and Volcanic Views

Exploring the grand suite, it’s clear that the bedroom is a dream. It’s a peaceful place to disconnect from the outside world. The bathroom is a further extension of this tranquil theme. Spacious, airy and relaxing, the entire space masterfully created. It’s a miracle guests manage to do anything aside from sleep and soak in the bathtub throughout their entire stay at Laguna Lodge.

When you do extend your gaze outside, wall to wall windows reveal the magnificent dual volcanoes across the mystical lake. To the left stands the vague silhouette of Volcan Toliman, and directly across the water lies the formidable shadow of Volcan San Pedro. Each suite invites you to take in the views, and to soak up the energy of Lake Atitlan.

Reconnect with Nature

Wake up with the sun and sip freshly brewed coffee on the terrace, as you invite the natural masterpiece of the lake to be unveiled before your eyes. Watch as the low morning clouds part and the towns that dot the lake start to come alive. One by one, the early morning fishermen are replaced by water taxis shuttling visitors and locals from one point to the next.

Make your way to the restaurant for a delicious breakfast of locally sourced  vegetarian food that is rich in flavours and nourishment. Flow from breakfast to the front deck with a fresh fruit juice in hand, as you think about how you might want to spend your day. The pool and lake await you for a refreshing swim, whilst kayaks and canoes are readily available for those who wish to explore further. The land around Laguna Lodge is also rich in hiking trails, an asset we strongly advise you make use of.

The lake has a way of drawing you deeper into nature. At Laguna Lodge, the days seem a little longer, and the rest feels a little more rejuvenating. Allow your circadian rhythm to reset. Wake up with the sun, and wind down with the sunset, with a siesta in between. This is the much needed break you’ve been craving.
